In most instamces, especially for residential jobs, the installation and commissioning process can be undertaken as a single job, however for larger commercial jobs, installation works may take place separately from commissioning jobs. This is because the works are often complex and more often than not, there are separate processes for installations and separate processes for commissioning works.
The well experienced team at O’Connells know how best to structure a job depending on your requirements, so give them a call today to discuss the needs of your project and how they can help.
Installation vs Commissioning - What's the Difference?
In larger commercial jobs, the need for separate installation and commissioning works is absolutely critical as most organisations have certain processes and requirements when it comes to undertaking the physical installation of things into their environments and then the commissioning or ‘turning on’ of those things. So if that is so important in larger commercial jobs, how do we differentiate between the two jobs?
A brief explanation of sech service can be found below:
Installation Services – Installation refers to the process of setting up a new HVAC system, which involves the proper assembly, positioning, and connection of all components, including heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment. HVAC systems can include central air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ductwork, and air filtration systems.
Commissioning Services – Commissioning is the process of verifying that the newly installed HVAC system is operating as intended, meeting design specifications, and performing efficiently. It involves a series of tests, adjustments, and documentation to ensure the system delivers the desired comfort and efficiency levels.
The team at O’Connells will help walk you through what the installation and commitments are for whatever project you have in mind, advising on whether a single visit is required or whether or not separate installation and commissioning appointments need to be considered. Too often the werong advice is provided here and jobs by others are often left incomplete or not to the same standard a properly planned job would have been.
